Prosaic is a Kiwi tech company, created by ex-Xero professionals with a vision to make accounting easier, especially for sole traders and smaller businesses. It uses Open Banking to securely share bank statements with us, your accountant, and leverages AI to speed up account coding and uncover common deductions. In the hands of experienced professionals these powerful tools mean less work for you to do, and a faster turnaround time, but still with the trusted eye of your accountant verifying your finances.

Setting up Prosaic is simple and fast—it only takes about five minutes. On average, users save around two hours of admin time at year-end and up to $2,000 annually in tax credits. Here's how you can get started:

1. Sign Up: Visit our secure client portal at https://app.prosaic.works/invite/real-ca.
2. Connect Your Secure Bank Feeds: Start by connecting bank accounts associated with rental properties or home loans. You can also connect any personal accounts used for home office expenses or business-related vehicle costs (like fuel).

 

That’s it, once you've connected your accounts, you're good to go—we'll handle the rest. We'll be notified as soon as your setup is complete, and start working on your accounts.

Prosaic's bank feeds are provided by Akahu, a company partially owned by Westpac and trusted by thousands of Kiwis, as well as organisations like MBIE and Simplicity Kiwisaver. You can learn more about their secure bank feeds here.
